Through photography, Victor Gamarra invites us to delight in the poetic experience that emerges when we disconnect from consumerist objectives and immerse ourselves in the contemplation of the present moment. Through works that invite reflection and observation, the artist guides us towards a deeper appreciation of what surrounds us, revealing beauty in everyday life and in the simplicity of existence. In this visual journey, we glimpse the principles of the Situationist International, which under the direction of Guy Debord, sought to rescue the critical potential of art for a subversion of the society of the spectacle. In this way, his photographs and the audiovisual composition on display evoke a slow time of contemplation, far from the speed of large cities and, therefore, outside the maelstrom of consumerism. They invite us to delight in the images that chance and tranquility can offer us, they focus on the everyday, on stillness, stripped of any artifice; in clear opposition to the concept of the postmodern city, which has become a showcase of multiple stimuli that change rapidly to seduce the citizen relegated to the role of consumer.
