I am a Peruvian photographer interested in narrating the possible connections I find between the inhabitants of Lima, exploring identity and memory. What personal and universal stories I can trace from a documentary and narrative account. In "Retorno", my personal story ends up connecting with the subjects and objects that, somehow, within the frame, could be found in contradiction with the harmony of that landscape. Through the search for certain visual paradoxes in the cliffs, seawalls and beaches of Lima (and the contradictions they produce), the photographed subjects become metaphors of loneliness and certain indications are visualized that our personal histories and their relationship with those spaces are more closely linked than we suppose.
